Esporta Wash System
We own and use a State-of-the-Art Cleaning System to clean your fire suits as prescribed by NFPA 1851.
The Esporta Wash System is a unique laundering technology that safely and effectively cleans PPE without:
- Causing deterioration of the fabric
- Reducing reflectivity of the garment’s trim
- Reducing the garment’s ability to reflect heat
- Damaging hard or soft goods

Custom designed, humidity controlled drying room.
We’ve designed a closed drying room environment that moves warm dry air through your garments – we do not heat or tumble dry your fire suit which can break down the fabric and the protective properties that you paid big $$ for. You have made a huge investment in the safety of your staff ... when you protect that investment you protect your people!
Ensemble Cleaning per NFPA 1851 means:
- Presoaking to help decontaminate
- No agitation while washing garments
- Water temperature control (not to exceed 105 degrees)
- Constant control of detergent pH (range 6.0 –10.5)
- Spin cycle of less than 100 g-force

Advanced Gear Inspection
NFPA recommends an advanced inspection for all fire fighting protective clothing be conducted annually. During this rigorous process, our manufacturer-certified inspectors will disassemble your PPE and put it through the NFPA recommended tests and then reassemble it.
If the item should fail any portion of the inspection, Turnout Express will prepare an estimate for repairs or recommend the item be removed from service.
If the item passes all aspects of the advanced inspection, then we’ll put our very own Fight-O stamp of approval on it - which means you can count on maximum performance from your turnout gear!
Ensemble Inspection per NFPA 1851 means:
Turnout gear is comprised of 2 layers – a thermal liner and moisture barrier. In order to meet NFPA 1851 compliance standards, these layers must be separated during inspection so that:
- The thermal liner can be illuminated and visually inspected for wear and material drift.
- The moisture barrier can be hydrostatically tested in multiple areas with specialized equipment.
Repair Services
Firefighters are rough on everything; it’s the nature of their work. The protective clothing they wear is no exception. Turnout Express provides repair services for rips, tears, and excessive wear. Velcro and reflective trim just doesn’t hold up to the rigors of fire fighting, and we can replace those items too.
Need a DRD, a radio pocket, or something custom-made for your unique firefighting needs? We’ll do custom alterations as well!
If moisture barriers and thermal liners need attention, we are fully equipped with the latest seam sealing and edge binding technologies to repair, alter or replace the internal components of your turnout gear.

Every time a piece of gear is serviced at Turnout Express, our client services team will update your records to reflect the most up-to-date information.
